For Adults

Adult Grief

Grief is a natural process after a death. It hurts when someone dies, but allowing yourself the time to grieve will eventually ease the pain. Grief is challenging and takes many forms. Grief can be physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. Grief is not a problem to be solved, it is a process to be lived.

Each person needs to grieve in their own way. When a significant person in your life dies, sharing feelings can assist you in the grieving process. Many people find that they benefit from being with caring others who are available to listen to their feelings and provide support.

Adult Support Groups

Groups are specific to age and relationship. We have groups for:

  • Adults who have experienced the death of a partner or spouse. The groups are divided into Young, Mid-Life, and Later Life Widows & Widowers.
  • Parents who have experienced the death of a son or daughter
  • Adults who have experienced the death of a mother or father
  • Siblings who have experienced the death of a brother or sister
  • General Grief - Adults who have experienced the death of a close friend or relative

Groups consist of eight to twelve members. The intimate home-like atmosphere helps to create a sense of community and support where feelings and memories can be expressed. The groups allow for sharing, learning, and healing.
