‘A Night Under the Wings’ of the Space Shuttle Endeavour
Founders Award Honoring Todd Gilman & Special Screening of IMAX Hubble 3D
Los Angeles (October 5, 2015) – On Saturday, November 14, OUR HOUSE Grief Support Center, one of the most respected non-profit grief centers in the nation, is proud to be the last organization fundraising under the wings of the Space Shuttle Endeavour before it moves on to its permanent place in the CA Science Center. OUR HOUSE is honoring its longtime supporter and former treasurer, Todd Gilman, under the wings with a “no tie, yes jeans” gala fundraiser to continue its great work in the grief support community for children, adults and the Latino community.
The Founder’s Award, named after OUR HOUSE’s founder, Jo-Ann Lautman, will be given to Todd Gilman. The award is OUR HOUSE’s highest honor and is given to individuals who have contributed significantly both in time and resources to the advancement of its mission to provide the community with grief support services, education, resources, and hope. “Todd is an integral part of the OUR HOUSE team, and has been since his first day on the Board, more than 12 years ago. Some of his leadership roles have included Vice Chair and the all-important role of Treasurer. It is not only his business acumen and sharp strategic thinking, but his compassionate dedication to helping those in our community experiencing grief, that we honor Todd with this award,” said Michele Prince, executive director of OUR HOUSE.
This year’s House of Hope Gala is a twist on the “rubber chicken formal dinner” gala-No rubber chicken! No Black Tie! Jeans are encouraged and sponsor IMAX will hold a private screening of its award winning film, IMAX® 3D, Hubble 3D. The film will offer an inspiring and unique look into the Hubble Space Telescope’s legacy and highlight its profound impact on the way we view the universe and ourselves. Special to the House of Hope Gala, Hubble 3D Director/Producer Toni Myers will be on hand for a special Q & A.
Is this happening this year??
The program will not only recognize OUR HOUSE supporters, but also bring hope, artwork and dance performances by a myriad of celebrities. The Gala will include auctioned artwork from a wide-range of imaginative celebrity supporters who have created inspiring pieces depicting their idea of a House of Hope. Previous years have included pieces from Anthony Hopkins, Reese Witherspoon, Tom Hanks, Lindsey Graham, Howie Mandel and many more.
These “Celebrity” Art Kits will be auctioned off that evening with 100% of the proceeds benefiting OUR HOUSE.
