I’ve been volunteering with OUR HOUSE for about two years, and it has been a life-changing experience for me. Although I haven’t experienced death in the same way as many of the OUR HOUSE clients, I understand the lasting pain and sorrow that comes with the death of a loved one, so I am grateful to have the opportunity to provide help and support to those on their grief journey towards healing.
Our House helped me get through the most difficult time in my life — losing my baby sister who was my best friend. Their facilitators were kind, loving and compassionate and made the meetings feel safe and non-judgmental. I especially loved the visioning board that they suggested we create for our loved ones that we had lost, which was extremely therapeutic.
Our House has helped me heal. In these 8.5 months since my dad passed. I am so grateful That they allow me a space to keep his memory alive.
