The OUR HOUSE community is filled with individuals who respect and understand the grieving process because they have experienced it themselves. We are referring to our most cherished OUR HOUSE family members, OUR HOUSE Alumni. We welcome you to your online place, a page to gain information and check in on OUR HOUSE and its programs.

On November 1, 2013, a shooting occurred at 9:20 a.m. in Terminal 3 at LAX that took the life of U.S. Government TSA Officer, Gerardo Hernandez. Gerardo’s wife, their 14-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter felt as though their lives had also ended that morning. Then, a friend introduced them to OUR HOUSE Grief Support Center.
We met in the OUR HOUSE Woodland Hills Lobby. Sarah and I were both two years out from losing our spouses and our children were members of the same support group for kids who lost a parent. Sarah’s daughter Hailey was thirteen years old and my son, Josh, was eleven. Though their ages differed, they both share a special bond.
